2012 Artisan Award Winner Blog Hop - Project 1

Welcome to the official 2012 Artisan Design Team Blog Hop!  Today is the first day of the hop.  If you are joining me from Heather Summers Blog, welcome! Isn't her work amazing?  

 I hope you will continue to check back with me for the next ten days.  You will be able to see 5 cards, 3 scrapbook pages and 2 three dimensional items from each member of the design team.  This is a group of very talented stampers, so you don't want to miss a post!   

 Here is my first card.  The colors are a combo of Soft Suede, Marina Mist, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, and Crumb Cake. I used a rubbing alcohol and shimmer paint combo to spritz the flower, scrunched it up and let it dry.  The alcohol "tightens" the fibers in the paper causing it to "harden"

Barbie Invites!

 Recently I was asked to make custom Birthday party invites for a friend of mine.  I had a blast making them.  But vintage Barbie silhouette is NOT easy to come by!  lets just say I had to be VERY creative, and there was a decent amount of cutting black card stock involved:)  So what do you think?

 Here is the inside...I did the words and heart in MDS (I love MDS2+)

Club Cards

Here are the two cards I made at my two clubs this month!! This one we made at my regular club...

And this one at my advanced club...

We made the ruffle along the bottom by taking a 1 1/2" x 11" strip of Card Stock and running the bone folder, back and forth multiple times until the "layers" of Card Stock started to separate.  Then "pealed" it apart to get two separate pieces.  The Card Stock is then thin (and kinda fuzzy which adds a great texture).  It is very pliable and can easily be turned into ruffles/pleats!  It's a fun technique, and is perfect on an eclectic card like this!

2012 Artisan Design Team Projects for August
